About this service
Business intelligence is about turning data into decisions. Not just displaying numbers, but designing dashboards and reports that answer the questions your leadership team actually has — and surface insights they didn't know to ask for.
We design and build BI solutions on Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, and Superset — choosing the tool based on your requirements, existing investments, and the technical capability of your team. We have a preference for tools that business users can extend themselves, reducing dependence on technical teams for every new report.
Data visualisation is a design discipline. The best dashboard isn't the one with the most charts — it's the one that tells the most important story most clearly. We apply visualisation best practices and work with your team to understand what decisions each dashboard needs to support.
How Dreamware approaches this
We start with the decisions, not the data. What decisions does this dashboard need to support? What questions does it need to answer? Who are the primary users and what's their data literacy? These questions shape the design before we look at the underlying data.
We then audit the data layer: is the data that needs to be visualised available, clean, and at the right granularity? If not, we address the data engineering gaps before building the visualisation layer. A beautiful dashboard on bad data is worse than no dashboard — it creates false confidence.

Investment guide
BI projects typically run $12,000–$50,000 NZD. Dashboard design and build for a single business domain (e.g. sales analytics) with a clean data layer runs $12,000–$20,000. Comprehensive BI implementations covering multiple business domains, semantic layer design, and self-service capability sit higher. Pricing depends significantly on the state of the underlying data.
