UX/UI Design & Implementation
Design systems, responsive interfaces, accessibility.
About this service
Good design isn't decoration — it's a system that makes the right actions obvious and the wrong actions hard. When design and engineering work together from the start, the result is interfaces that are both beautiful and functional. When they're separated into waterfall phases, you get designs that can't be built and implementations that don't match the design.
We do design and engineering together. Our designers work in Figma and think about component systems, interaction states, and implementation constraints from day one. Our engineers work from the design system, not the static mockups, and they push back when something won't work in the browser.
We design for the full range of users: different devices, different screen sizes, different accessibility needs. Responsive design is a baseline, not a feature. WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance is standard, not an add-on.
How Dreamware approaches this
Design work starts with the user: who they are, what they're trying to accomplish, and what the context of use looks like. We use lightweight research techniques — interviews, observation, and existing analytics — to ground design decisions in real user behaviour rather than assumptions.
We design in components, not pages. A component-based design system means the design and implementation stay in sync, new pages can be assembled from existing parts, and the interface is consistent across the product. We use Figma with a component library that maps directly to the implemented code.
What you get
- Design system — component library in Figma with documented variants, states, and usage guidelines
- Implemented components — production React (or equivalent) components matching the design system
- Responsive layouts — tested across mobile, tablet, and desktop breakpoints
- Accessibility audit — WCAG 2.1 AA compliance documented with remediation for any failures
- User testing report — findings from testing with representative users
- Design handoff documentation — for your team to extend the design system going forward
Investment guide
UX/UI design and implementation projects typically run $15,000–$60,000 NZD. Design system creation and implementation for a focused product area runs $15,000–$30,000. Full UX/UI for a complex web application including research, design system, and implementation sits higher. Design-only engagements (without implementation) are available at a proportionally lower cost.
All pricing in NZD excluding GST. Fixed-price engagements where scope allows — we'll confirm pricing after a free scoping conversation.
